National Grid has applied for consent to build a new electricity connection between Bridgwater and Seabank in Avonmouth.  We submitted our Development Consent Order (DCO) application to The Planning Inspectorate on 28 May 2014.

Following a six month Examination (19 January - 19 July 2015), the Planning Inspectorate considered our application and issued a report of recommendation to the Secretary of State on 19 October 2015.  The Secretary of State now has three months to make a decision.

More information can be found on the Planning Inspectorate website. Plans and supporting documents for the DCO application can also be found there.

All correspondence relating to this project must now be sent directly to the Planning Inspectorate who can be contacted by email at or by phone on 0303 444 5000. Any correspondence should quote the application reference number EN020001.
